Cambodia, U.S. Reaffirm Shared Commitment to Bosting Bilateral Relations and Cooperation
AKP Phnom Penh, October 3, 2026 --Cambodia and the United States of America have underscored their long-standing bonds of friendship and fruitful cooperation, while reaffirming their shared commitment to further strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across various fields.
The commitment was highlighted by H.E. Vong Meng, Under-Secretary of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Ms. Aleks Zittle, Chargé d’Affaires, a.i. of the U.S. Embassy in Cambodia, while attending a friendly football match organised on the afternoon of Oct. 2 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFAIC) and the U.S. Embassy.
The friendly football match was aimed to commemorate the 76th Anniversary of the Establishment of Diplomatic Relations between the Kingdom of Cambodia and the United States of America, said the MFAIC in a news release issued on Saturday.
Both dignitaries welcomed this friendly football match as a meaningful initiative to foster mutual understanding, trust, and closer people-to-people connections between the Ministry and the Embassy, while further nurturing the enduring friendship and partnership between Cambodia and the U.S.
