AKP Phnom Penh, September 27, 2026 -- Cambodian Deputy Prime Minister H.E. Prak Sokhonn, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, has paid a courtesy call on H.E. António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations, on the sidelines of the General Debate of the 81st Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, United States of America.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, during the meeting held on the evening of Sept. 25, the Cambodian top diplomat expressed deep appreciation for the enduring Cambodia-UN partnership since the 1990s UNTAC mission and its support for national development.

H.E. Prak Sokhonn was very grateful for the Secretary-General’s outstanding achievements in leading the organisation and for making it stronger and more relevant, especially during decades marked by profound transformation, turbulence, and tremendous challenges.

The Deputy Prime Minister and the UN Secretary-General also exchanged views on the current situation along the Cambodia-Thailand border.
