The founder of G Adventures, Mr. Bruce Poon Tip, has reaffirmed the company’s commitment to contributing to the development of Cambodia’s tourism sector, particularly by promoting the Kingdom as an attractive destination for international tourists.

The commitment was made during his courtesy call on Samdech Maha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh on Wednesday morning, on the occasion of G Adventures’ 2026 Global Summit (GX Summit), being held in Cambodia from Sept. 23 to 28.

Mr. Bruce Poon Tip expressed his deep appreciation to the Royal Government of Cambodia for allowing G Adventures to organise the 2026 GX Summit in Cambodia, with approximately 700 delegates participating. He said the event would make an important contribution to showcasing and promoting Cambodia’s tourism potential to the world.

The G Adventures founder also praised the Royal Government’s vision and strategies for tourism development, noting that they are aligned with the company’s core mission of promoting community-based tourism to improve local livelihoods and help reduce poverty among local communities.

Mr. Bruce Poon Tip highlighted Cambodia’s rich cultural tourism resources and abundant natural tourism potential, describing them as highly attractive destinations for both domestic and international tourists.

He further emphasised G Adventures’ commitment to contributing to Cambodia’s tourism development by working to promote Cambodia as a popular international tourist destination through cooperation with international travel agencies, media outlets and prominent content creators. These efforts aim to showcase Cambodia’s beauty and attractions to the world, as well as highlight the Kingdom as a safe and welcoming destination known for the hospitality of its people.

In response, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet thanked G Adventures for selecting Cambodia as the host country for the important global event. He stressed that the presence of international delegates was particularly important in demonstrating Cambodia’s actual tourism potential to the world.

The Prime Minister highlighted the Royal Government’s tourism development policy, which prioritises ecotourism and community-based tourism. He stressed the government’s support for tourism communities through the development and construction of necessary infrastructure, strengthening the capacity of local communities, and encouraging private-sector participation, while placing the interests of local communities at the centre.

At the same time, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet underlined efforts to develop new tourism products, including tour packages connecting key destinations in Cambodia, such as Phnom Penh, Siem Reap and surrounding areas.

He also highlighted the modernisation of the visa system and the facilitation of immigration procedures to make travel to Cambodia more convenient for tourists and other travellers.

Before concluding the meeting, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet encouraged G Adventures to continue working closely with the Ministry of Tourism, the Cambodia Tourism Board (CTB) and other relevant ministries and institutions to further strengthen their partnership and cooperation, with a view to ensuring the long-term resilience and sustainability of Cambodia’s tourism sector.
