Preah Sihanouk Province Promotes Tourism Investment to Boost Coastal Economy
AKP Phnom Penh, April 23, 2026 -- A workshop on “Opportunities and Investment Promotion in Tourism in Preah Sihanouk Province” was held on April 22 to attract tourism investment and strengthen the economic potential of Cambodia’s coastal region.
The workshop was chaired by H.E. Im Sokthy, Secretary-General of the Preah Sihanouk Provincial Investment Promotion Working Group; H.E. Younes Mohamad, Under-Secretary of State at the Ministry of Tourism; and Mr. Long Dimanche, Deputy Governor of Preah Sihanouk Province.
The event was also attended by leaders of municipal and district administrations, representatives of relevant provincial departments and institutions, as well as a large number of tourism operators and investors.
The workshop was organised to highlight the province’s renewed growth momentum and investment potential following major improvements in physical infrastructure.
The provincial investment promotion team emphasised streamlined administrative procedures and incentives available to both domestic and foreign investors interested in the tourism sector.
Participants also held in-depth discussions on developing new tourism products beyond traditional beach tourism, including Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE) tourism, island adventure tourism, and stronger tourism linkages with special economic zones.
Deputy Governor Mr. Long Dimanche highlighted the importance of partnership between the provincial administration and the private sector in ensuring sustainable development.
He stressed that the provincial administration stands ready to support investors and address their challenges in order to transform Preah Sihanouk into one of Southeast Asia’s leading tourism and investment destinations.
