Cambodian authorities distributed emergency supplies to 2,300 displaced families in Banteay Meanchey province on Wednesday, part of a Royal Government-led humanitarian response to ongoing displacement in the country’s northwest.

A Royal Government Working Group delivered food and shelter materials to households in Malai district, an operation funded by Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, Cambodian Red Cross President Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, and the First Lady Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony.

Each family received 25 kilogrammes of rice, tents, bedding, and other essential items.

Displaced residents expressed appreciation for the assistance, saying it eased immediate hardship and underscored the Royal Government’s presence during a period of uncertainty.

"Authorities are monitoring conditions around the clock to ensure displaced families have adequate shelter and food," said Agriculture Minister H.E. Dith Tina, who heads the working group.

The initiative aims not only to provide material relief but also to bolster morale and solidarity between the Royal Government and citizens during a time of difficulty, officials said.
