MoH, IOM Discuss Migrant Worker Health Cooperation
AKP Phnom Penh, December 04, 2025 -- Secretary of State at the Ministry of Health, H.E. Prof. Koy Vanny, held here on Dec. 3 discussions with Ms. Nellie Ghusayni, Chief of the International Organisation for Migration (IOM) Mission in Cambodia to strengthen cooperation on migrant worker health and public preparedness between the two organisations.
In the meeting, H.E. Prof. Koy Vanny expressed appreciation and gratitude to the IOM for its longstanding commitment and close cooperation with Cambodia, and for its crucial role in supporting the Royal Government's efforts to improve the health of migrant workers, enhance public health preparedness, and build a stronger and more inclusive health system.
H.E. Prof. Koy Vanny encouraged the IOM to implement the agreed-upon cooperation projects by working closely with local authorities, the Provincial/Capital Health Departments, National Programmes, relevant National Centres, as well as public health facilities.
For her part, Ms. Nellie Ghusayni highly appreciated and commended the Royal Government of Cambodia, especially the leadership of the Ministry of Health, for focusing attention on the health of migrant and displaced families along the borders, covering both prevention and treatment of both emergency and chronic diseases.
