Cambodia Partners with China’s Nanning University to Forge Ahead in AI and Drone Tech Training
AKP Phnom Penh, April 27, 2026 --
Cambodia’s Ministry of Interior and China’s Nanning Vocational and Technical University (NVTU) have agreed on a strategic partnership to accelerate digital technology and specialised technical training.
The agreement was solidified during a meeting here on Monday between Secretary of State at the Ministry of Interior H.E. Dr. Touch Visalsok and a visiting Chinese delegation from Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. Talks centred on a cooperation framework in high-tech fields, with an immediate focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) technology.
Three core pillars define the collaboration: Joint training programmes in AI and drone operations will directly boost the Ministry’s digital and operational capabilities; Stronger institutional ties between Cambodia’s Interior Ministry and Nanning-based academic bodies will support long-term knowledge transfer; Both sides will explore further technology transfer and human resource development in emerging sectors.
The initiative highlights Cambodia’s push to modernise its administrative and security infrastructure through targeted international academic partnerships – a move that underscores digital transformation as a key driver of regional development.
