The Extraordinary Meeting of the Regional Border Committee (RBC) between Cambodia’s Military Region 3 and Thailand’s Chanthaburi-Trat Border Defence Command is scheduled to take place on Aug. 16, running for the entire day.
The announcement was made at a press briefing this morning by H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata, Under Secretary of State and Spokesperson of the Ministry of National Defence.
According to the spokesperson, the RBC Secretariat held its extraordinary meeting yesterday in Thailand’s Trat province, achieving notable positive developments.

H.E. Lt. Gen. Maly Socheata noted that the extraordinary RBC session follows the outcomes of the Special Meeting held on July 28, 2025, in Putrajaya, Malaysia, and the Extraordinary Meeting of the Cambodia-Thailand General Border Committee (GBC) concluded on Aug. 7, 2025.
These meetings reaffirmed the importance of maintaining regular communication between the armed forces of both countries’ military regions and border defence units, as well as the commitment to resolve issues peacefully and avoid confrontations, she added.
