The key strategy Cambodia has maintained since the ceasefire agreement came into effect at midnight on July 28, 2025, is “patience,” despite Thailand’s continued provocations in various forms.

“In implementing the ceasefire, Cambodia considers patience the most crucial strategy to prevent the resurgence of armed conflict. Despite provocations — such as placing roadblocks, installing barbed wire, firing slingshots, spreading false information, and using provocative rhetoric aimed at causing internal destabilisation — Cambodia has remained tolerant, united, and committed to resisting retaliation or escalation, thereby safeguarding peace and stability,” affirmed H.E. Pen Bona, Head of the Royal Government Spokesperson Unit, at a press briefing here this morning.

He attributed Cambodia’s effective implementation to the leadership’s commitment to peace, strong sense of responsibility, and disciplined direction, noting that the military and armed forces have strictly followed directives from the leadership, ensuring stability and order.

Moreover, he emphasised that Cambodian citizens place great trust in their leaders, who are experienced and strategic in addressing national issues, upholding peace and international law, and in the country’s dedicated armed forces, who diligently protect national sovereignty and territorial integrity.
