Cambodian Senior Official Attends 2025 HLPE in New York City

H.E. Chhieng Yanara, Senior Minister in charge of Special Missions and Second Vice-President of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), partook and delivered a statement in the Ministerial Segment of the High-Level Political Forum 2025 (HLPF) 2025 in New York City, the United States of America, early this week.
According to the CDC, H.E. Chhieng Yanara brought into attention about the unwavering efforts of the government and people of Cambodia in transforming the country once ravaged by war into a place of peace and dignity which reflected the rationale behind the continued commitment to preserving peace, abiding by international laws, and advancing the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
In this regard, H.E. Senior Minister highlighted some notable approach and commitment with regards to advancing SDGs, that is, being committed to ending HIV/AIDS (Contribution to SDG 3), setting out empowerment initiatives (SDG 4), diversifying, integrating economy with digital innovation (SDG 8), strengthening governance fisheries (SDG 14), and enhancing inclusive decision-making (SDG 17).
The 2025 HLPF, the central platform of the United Nations for the follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda and under the theme of “Advancing Sustainable Inclusive, Science and Evidence-Based Solutions for the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and its Sustainable Development Goals for Leaving No One Behind,” attracted high-level representatives of Member States and representatives of the United Nations System, along with stakeholders, including civil society and private sector to discuss policies for accelerating implementation of the 2030 Agenda.
The segment conducted in-depth review on a number of SDGs that have interlinked nature by placing an emphasis on good health and well-being (SDG 3), gender equality (SDG 5), decent work and economic growth (SDG 8), life below water (SDG 14), and partnerships for the goals (SDG 17).
