Cambodia, China Reaffirm Stronger Ties

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate, received H.E. Wang Zhimin, Vice Chairman of the Ethnic Affairs Committee of the National People’s Congress of China, at the Senate Palace this morning.
During the courtesy meeting, Samdech Techo Hun Sen remarked that the visit of H.E. Wang Zhimin reflects the robust development of the Cambodia-China Community with a Shared Future in the New Era.
The Senate President extended his best wishes to the Chinese leadership and expressed deep appreciation for the strong and steady progress in Cambodia-China relations, which have flourished since the 1950s.
He further noted that current global challenges present an opportunity for Cambodia-China and China-ASEAN to strengthen their cooperation—particularly in reinforcing multilateralism and promoting respect for international law.
Within the bilateral framework, Samdech Techo outlined his vision to further promote cooperation in tourism, economic ties, and people-to-people exchanges. He also praised China for consistently respecting and valuing its relations with Cambodia, regardless of the two countries’ differing sizes and global standings.
For his part, H.E. Wang Zhimin spoke highly of the enduring friendship between Cambodia and China, fostered by generations of leaders. He welcomed the continued growth in bilateral trade and Chinese investment in Cambodia, adding that tourism growth would further boost other key sectors.
