Ethiopian Airlines and Air Cambodia Sign MoU to Strengthen Africa–Cambodia Travel and Trade
AKP Phnom Penh, July 11, 2025 -- Ethiopian Airlines and Air Cambodia have reached a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to enhance connectivity and promote tourism and business between Africa and Cambodia.
Signed on July 11, 2025 in Hanoi, Vietnam by the Mr. Eng Molina, Chief Commercial Officer of Air Cambodia, and Mr. Lemma Yadecha Gudeda, Group Chief Commercial Officers of Ethiopian airlines, the MoU outlines plans to explore a direct flight between Phnom Penh and Addis Ababa and develop joint initiatives to offer smoother travel experiences, according to a news release from Air Cambodia.
Both airlines will develop to be codeshare partner in the near future for some main routes between Phnom Penh, Hanoi/Hong Kong/Guangzhou/Shenzen, and Addis Ababa, said the source, adding that the cooperation also covers cargo, ground services, and marketing support.
This strategic partnership aims to attract more African visitors and investors to Cambodia by offering greater access, convenience, and cooperation between the two regions, it underlined.
The signing ceremony was witnessed by Mr. Zhan David - Chief Executive Officer, Management team of Air Cambodia, Management team of Ethiopian Airlines, Management team of Vietnam Airlines, Tourism Authority of Vietnam, Civil Aviation of Authority of Vietnam, other key partners, and media.
