Phnom Penh’s Riverside Walk Street to Be Officially Inaugurated Following Successful Trial

Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet is set to officially inaugurate Phnom Penh’s Walk Street on June 21 – thanks to the sustained popularity among both local and foreign visitors during its trial period.
According to Director and Spokesperson for the Phnom Penh Capital Administration Ms. Dor Samphors, since the launch of its trial on Feb. 1, the Walk Street has continued to entice many visitors with a diverse array of services and entertainment.
Stretching from the area in front of the Cambodia Post Office to the Royal Palace, it is Phnom Penh’s first-ever and largest pedestrian street along the capital’s riverside.
The vibrant street features a variety of culinary delights, restaurants, stalls selling souvenirs, and a mix of traditional and contemporary performances.
The Royal Government launches the Walk Street as a flagship tourism product aimed at attracting more visitors, generating employment opportunities, and enhancing the energy and appeal of Phnom Penh – ultimately contributing to Cambodia’s broader tourism and economic landscape.
