High Hope Aimed for Cambodia-China Humanitarian Military Drill 2025
AKP Phnom Penh, May 07, 2025 --
Cambodia and China are committed to succeeding in another joint military drill for humanitarian purposes, the 7th Golden Dragon 2025, to live up to the ironclad friendship between the two countries.
The commitment was highlighted in a press release issued by the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) General Command on May 6.
The two-week-long military exercise, from May 14 to 28, is vital for Cambodia-China strategic relations in response to the current global context.
The exercise aims to exchange experience and strengthen the capacity of the RCAF and the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) in humanitarian operations, disaster rescue, and counter-terrorism within the United Nations framework.
To be organised at Kampong Chhnang and Preah Sihanouk provinces, the Golden Dragon 2025 was themed “Joint Counter-Terrorism Operations and Humanitarian Relief Work”.
This year’s military drill attracts 1,331 Cambodian and 845 Chinese soldiers along with advanced weapons, ammunition, helicopters, robots, warships, drones and so on.
Cambodia and China kick-started the first Golden Dragon military drill in 2016.
