Samdech Maha Rathsapheathika Thipadei Khuon Sudary, President of the National Assembly of Cambodia, has extended her congratulations to EU Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Igor Driesmans on the occasion of the Europe Day.

“On behalf of the National Assembly of the Kingdom of Cambodia and on my own behalf, I wish to extend my warmest congratulations to you on the auspicious occasion of Europe Day, marking the 75th anniversary of the Schuman Declaration,” she wrote in her message dated May 6.

The EU-Cambodia relationship has been gradually strengthened based on the principles of mutual respect, mutual understanding, mutual trust and mutual interests, she continued, stressing that their cooperation areas span across sectors, including parliamentary cooperation and people-to-people ties.

“We also together promote an open and inclusive multilateralism and rules-based international order,” she underlined.

The Cambodian National Assembly President expressed her high appreciation for the EU's substantial assistance to Cambodia and its people, especially for the enhancement of good governance and democracy.

Samdech Khuon Sudary concluded her message with best wishes of good health and continued success to H.E. Igor Driesmans.
