Cambodian PM: People Want Peace and Progress After Years of Turmoil
AKP Phnom Penh, May 06, 2025 -- Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet this morning expressed confidence that the Cambodian people need peace and development because they are tired of political unrest.
“I believe that our citizens are fed up with political turmoil. What we need now is peace and development—such as infrastructure, healthcare, and more,” he stated during the groundbreaking ceremony for a wastewater treatment system project in Takhmao city, Kandal province.
The Prime Minister emphasised that Cambodia will continue moving forward, as long as peace and stability are maintained.
“Cambodia will not stand still. With no more fighting, no more division, no more killing, we will keep progressing—sharing our achievements and creating more for everyone,” he said.
Samdech Thipadei also highlighted the long-standing role of the Cambodian People’s Party (CPP), which has led the government for over four decades.
“Under the leadership of the CPP, many accomplishments have been made. But we remain committed to building even more for our people,” the Prime Minister affirmed.
