Trade Exhibition Showcases Potential Products in Siem Reap Province
AKP Phnom Penh, February 28, 2025 --
The Ministry of Commerce organises the 18th Cambodian Products, Fruits and Vegetables Exhibition 2025 in Siem Reap province, showcasing potential domestic agriculture products.
The official opening ceremony was held on Feb. 27 with participation of H.E. Samheng Bora, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Commerce, with key figures from the relevant ministries and institutions, the private sector, and agricultural cooperatives.
A total of 88 companies, enterprises, traders, producers, communities, and growers have been participating in the exhibition of 111 booths.
In his keynote address, H.E. Samheng Bora highly appreciated the efforts of officials at all levels of the ministry in organising this exhibition in a creative, vibrant and diverse manner.
He emphasised that organising the exhibition is important and has had positive effects by increasing trade activities and attracting national and international tourists, which will contribute to boosting the local economy.
“The exhibition provides a platform for traders, merchants, operators, service providers, importers and exporters, fruit and vegetable growers, and farm owners in Siem Reap province and from the provinces around Siem Reap, various provinces and Phnom Penh to display, promote and sell Cambodian products made by Cambodians and natural fruits and vegetables to the general public, including national and international tourists,” he said.
The exhibition is an important part of the Ministry of Commerce's trade development policy, he added, calling on the Cambodian people to support and use local products instead of imported goods.
“The event will also provide opportunities for interaction between traders and merchants, farm owners, supermarket owners, wholesalers and retailers to discuss and seek cooperation,” said H.E. Secretary of State.
H.E. Samheng Bora urged all Cambodian producers, traders, and businessmen to strive to create more innovative ideas and prepare goods for market needs by strengthening the quality, aesthetics, and safety of products for consumers, complying with hygiene standards, and being affordable, so that they can compete in the free market.
The ministry stated that organising the exhibitions has so far gradually strengthened the local production chain, and Cambodian producers have gained knowledge, know-how, and gained many good experiences to strengthen and expand production, develop their products and services to serve the market.
The 18th Cambodian Products, Fruits and Vegetables Exhibition 2025 is taking place at the Public Exercise Area along the Siem Reap River from Feb. 27 to Mar. 2 under the theme “Increasing the Added Value of Fruit and Vegetable Businesses.”
