AKP Phnom Penh, April 22, 2026 --
A Cambodian delegation led by H.E. Som Sokun, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts, attended the opening ceremony of the “Angkor Smile” exhibition in Beijing, the People’s Republic of China, on April 20.
Representing Minister of Culture and Fine Arts H.E. Dr. Phoeurng Sackona, H.E. Som Sokun joined the launch event held at the Digital Arts Centre (CPU) exhibition hall in the Chinese capital.
The exhibition was organised by X-Capital Cambodia in cooperation with the Cambodia-China Friendship Collaboration Association (CCFCA) and Chinese artificial intelligence company 4U Technology, with the support of Cambodia’s Ministry of Culture and Fine Arts.
According to the Ministry, “Angkor Smile” draws inspiration from the records of Chinese envoy Zhou Daguan on the customs and daily life of Chenla people in the 13th century.
The exhibition aims to showcase Cambodia’s arts, culture, traditions, lifestyle, and especially the wonders of the Angkor heritage site through the use of digital technology.
It is also intended to raise awareness among the Chinese public about Cambodia’s rich cultural heritage and help attract more Chinese tourists to visit the Kingdom.
