Australia Provides Humanitarian Aid for Displaced People
AKP Phnom Penh, January 02, 2026 -- The Australian Government has announced US$250,000 in humanitarian assistance to support communities in Cambodia displaced by the border conflict.
According to the Australian Embassy in Cambodia, through the Oxfam in Cambodia, the assistance includes clean water, sanitation, food, dignity kits and emergency shelter.
“We hope displaced persons on both sides of the border can return home quickly,” the embassy said.
The Ministry of Interior reported that as of 6:00 p.m. on Jan. 1, a total of 103,177 displaced people had returned home and 409,186 remaining, including 214,525 women and 131,413 children, remain staying at replacement sites.
