Cambodia Red Cross President Honours Fallen Army Officer in Pursat
AKP Phnom Penh, December 29, 2025 --
Samdech Kittiprittpundit Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Red Cross (CRC), paid her last tribute on Monday morning to a senior army officer killed in the line of duty, offering condolences and financial support to the bereaved family in Pursat province.
Accompanied by Red Cross officials, the wife of former Prime Minister and current Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen met with the family of Lieutenant Colonel Chan Sovatha to express sympathy for his sacrifice during active service.
"The nation will always remember and honour the courage and dedication of those who sacrifice their lives in the line of duty," the Red Cross said in a statement.
Lieutenant Colonel Chan Sovatha was described by officials as a brave officer who died defending Cambodia's territorial integrity and national sovereignty.
Following local traditions, the Red Cross delegation provided food supplies and financial assistance to the family to assist with funeral costs and immediate hardships.
