Phnom Penh City Hall distributes aid to families of frontline soldiers
AKP Phnom Penh, December 28, 2025 --
The Phnom Penh municipal administration has distributed humanitarian assistance to 1,224 families of frontline soldiers from all 105 Sangkats (communes) of the capital, underscoring the authorities’ commitment to supporting displaced civilians and military families amid ongoing tensions.
Phnom Penh Governor H.E. Khuong Sreng said the assistance was provided under the guidance of the Senate President Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen and Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, with the capital authorities working intensively to ensure the welfare and health of displaced people and the families of soldiers now staying across the capital’s 14 Khans (districts) and 105 Sangkats.
“We have spared no effort to care for the livelihoods and well-being of displaced citizens and the families of our frontline forces, leaving no one behind,” he said.
The aid was handed over at Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre on Dec. 27, under the auspices of Cambodia’s First Lady Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet.
H.E. Khuong Sreng said Khan and Sangkat authorities have strictly implemented the Prime Minister’s directive to ensure that no one goes without food, particularly displaced people and military families.
Over two days, from Dec. 26–27, Dr. Pich Chanmony Hun Manet personally visited, met and distributed aid on behalf of Prime Minister Hun Manet and herself to more than 3,000 families, including displaced civilians and soldiers’ families, at Koh Pich.
On Dec. 26, aid was provided to 1,789 displaced families, comprising more than 5,000 people. On Dec. 27, assistance was distributed to 1,224 families of frontline soldiers.
H.E. Khuong Sreng said the Phnom Penh administration, together with all Khans and Sangkats, remains committed to caring for displaced people, particularly military families, in recognition of the sacrifices made by the armed forces.
“On behalf of the Phnom Penh authorities and the people of the capital, and indeed citizens nationwide, we express our deep and enduring gratitude for the sacrifices of our heroic soldiers,” he said.
Authorities have continued to provide food supplies and moral support to families on the home front, assuring soldiers at the front lines that their loved ones are being cared for and urging them not to worry.
