Cambodia, U.S. to Further Strengthen Bilateral Trade Relations

H.E. SUN Chanthol, Deputy Prime Minister and First Vice Chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), H.E. CHAM Nimul, Minister of Commerce and a Cambodian delegation met with H.E. Ambassador Jamieson GREER, United States Trade Representative (USTR), in Washington D.C. from Oct. 6 to 9, 2025.
According to the Royal Government Spokesperson Unit of Cambodia, in this meeting, both sides applauded the significant progress achieved thus far on the negotiation of the Agreement on Reciprocal Trade and discussed steps to further strengthen bilateral trade relations.
On July 31, 2025, Cambodia was granted 19 percent reciprocal tariff rates, down from the original rate of 49 percent. The result of the reciprocal tariff rates reduction and negotiation of the Agreement on Reciprocal Trade was substantially completed through 7 virtual conferences and 3 rounds of in-person meetings.
“The Royal Government of the Kingdom of Cambodia, led by Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei HUN Manet, Prime Minister, will continue to cooperate closely with the United States of America to achieve a mutually beneficial trade and investment relationship,” reaffirmed the Royal Government Spokesperson Unit.
