Digital Dialogue Launched to Strengthen Collaboration with Cambodia’s Media Sector in Digital Era
AKP Phnom Penh, September 30, 2025 --
A three-day Digital Dialogue led by the ABC International Development (ABCID) kicked off today in Phnom Penh with an aim to strengthen collaboration with Cambodia’s media sector in digital era.
Supported by the Australian Government, the Digital Dialogue is an opportunity for journalists, reporters and media professionals from a range of outlets to discuss emerging challenges in the media sector, share their experiences and insights, and learn from experts.
Participants will discuss and learn about building digital resilience in local media environments, effective and ethical use of artificial intelligence in media, and practical tools for producing quality mobile and digital journalism.
Ms. Bridget Collier, Deputy Head of Mission at the Australian Embassy, stated the journalism’s important role in promoting transparency and accountability, helping citizens make informed decisions about their lives and their communities.
“Beyond technical skills, I hope this course gives you the space to reflect on your own writing style, to connect with fellow journalists, and to think about how language shapes the way we tell stories,” she said.
ABC International Development, the international arm of Australian national public broadcaster, has worked with media organisations across the Indo-Pacific, sharing expertise, training, and technical support to strengthen independent journalism and build resilient media landscapes.
This workshop’s topics include Digital Transformation and Media Viability and Digital Literacy and AI for Journalists. These are not just technical areas, they are vital to ensuring accuracy, credibility and public trust.
While technologies and platforms may evolve, the core principles of journalism remain constant: a commitment to truth, a dedication to the public interest and a passion for telling stories that matter.
