Senior Minister Ly Thuch Encourages Chinese Investors to Expand Investments, Aligning with PM Hun Manet’s Vision
AKP Phnom Penh, August 11, 2025 --
Senior Minister H.E. Dr. Ly Thuch has urged Chinese investors to explore new opportunities in Cambodia, reinforcing Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet’s economic development strategy.
Speaking at the Cambodia–China Investment Outlook Forum and Economic Policy Presentation on Aug. 9 in Shenzhen, China, H.E. Dr. Ly Thuch, who also chairs Cambodia’s National Committee for the Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific (ESCAP), emphasised the country’s growing appeal as a strategic investment hub. The forum, held as part of the 19th China Brand Festival, gathered leading Chinese investors and business leaders.
He noted that since establishing diplomatic relations in 1958, Cambodia and China have strengthened bilateral cooperation, evolving into a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. High-level exchanges since 1999 have further solidified ties, positioning Cambodia as a reliable and lucrative destination for Chinese capital.
H.E. Senior Minister underscored Cambodia’s competitive advantages, including modern infrastructure—roads, railways, ports, airports, and utilities—alongside a young, skilled workforce. The Cambodia-China Free Trade Agreement and investor-friendly policies, he added, create a robust framework for business growth across key sectors.
Under Prime Minister Hun Manet’s leadership, the Royal Government remains dedicated to investor protection, transparency, and sustainable development, fostering a secure environment for long-term ventures.
H.E. Dr. Ly Thuch invited Chinese enterprises to deepen engagement, particularly within the Belt and Road Initiative and the Cambodia-China Diamond Cooperation Framework. He also thanked investors for their ongoing confidence, job creation, and contributions to Cambodia’s socio-economic progress.
