PM Moved by Patriotic Spirit and National Unity of Cambodian People
AKP Phnom Penh, August 06, 2025 -- Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has expressed his deep appreciation for the patriotic spirit and national unity demonstrated by Cambodians across the globe.
“I am truly moved to have recently witnessed the patriotic spirit and national unity of Cambodian people around the world, who have come together to support peace, stand with our forces in defending territorial integrity, and demand the release of our 18 soldiers still in Thai custody,” the Prime Minister stated in a social media post this evening.
On behalf of the Royal Government and in his personal capacity, Samdech Thipadei extended heartfelt thanks to all Cambodian citizens, both at home and abroad, for their noble spirit.
“These activities clearly demonstrate patriotism, unity, and solidarity—qualities essential to our nation. They also reflect the people's sincere desire for peace and an end to the conflict,” he said.
Samdech Thipadei reaffirmed the Royal Government’s unwavering commitment to defending national sovereignty while resolving the dispute with Thailand peacefully and as swiftly as possible.
He also noted that on Aug. 7, an extraordinary session of the Cambodia–Thailand General Boundary Committee (GBC) will be held in Malaysia, with observers from Malaysia, the United States, and China in attendance. The meeting will focus on advancing the implementation of the ceasefire agreement reached on July 28, 2025.
“At the same time, we have not forgotten our 18 Cambodian soldiers still held in Thai custody. The Royal Government continues to pursue all available channels to secure their release and their return to Cambodia as soon as possible,” the Prime Minister concluded.
