Cambodia Urges Thailand to Return to Sincere Dialogue for Peace
AKP Phnom Penh, July 30, 2025 --
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation has called on Thailand to stop making accusations against Cambodia and instead return to sincere dialogue in the interest of peace.
Speaking at a press briefing this afternoon, H.E. Chum Sounry, Secretary of State and Spokesperson for the Ministry, expressed Cambodia’s regret that Thailand continues to escalate accusations, rather than focusing on the joint mechanisms and good-faith dialogue agreed upon during the special meeting in Malaysia on July 28, 2025.
“Cambodia recalls that such actions risk undermining the progress achieved so far,” he stated.
H.E. Chum Sounry also reiterated Cambodia’s call for the urgent deployment of impartial international observer team to monitor and verify the ceasefire on both sides of the border.
“Cambodia remains fully committed to the peaceful resolution of the dispute in accordance with international law, as well as to the maintenance of regional stability,” he affirmed.
