Minister Dith Tina Visits and Delivers Aid to 656 Displaced Families in Banteay Meanchey
AKP Phnom Penh, July 29, 2025 --
H.E. Dith Tina, Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries and Head of the Royal Government Working Group for Banteay Meanchey Province, this morning, visited and distributed aid from Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, and the First Lady Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony, to 656 displaced families.
These families had arrived at a safe location in Phnom Srok district, Banteay Meanchey province, between July 24 and 28, 2025.
The significant ceremony took place at Bo Pagoda in Phnom Srok district. Accompanying H.E. Dith Tina were provincial leaders, and numerous delegates and members of the working group assisting Phnom Srok district.
During the visit, H.E. Dith Tina expressed his deep concern and profound sympathy for the displaced families who have faced hardship and were forced to leave their homes. He stated that this visit and the provision of aid demonstrate the high regard and attention given by Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet and Lok Chumteav Dr. Pich Chanmony to the well-being of all citizens, especially those experiencing difficulties.
The Minister further emphasised that the Royal Government of Cambodia, under the wise leadership of Samdech Thipadei, always prioritises the welfare of its people. He affirmed that the Royal Government will continue to strive to address all challenges to ensure a decent livelihood and peace for all Cambodians. He also called on all displaced individuals to remain strong and united to overcome the current obstacles.
In response, H.E. Oum Reatrey, Governor of Banteay Meanchey Province, expressed heartfelt gratitude to H.E. Dith Tina for taking the time to visit and deliver this valuable aid. He assured that the Banteay Meanchey provincial authorities would continue to cooperate closely with the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, as well as other relevant ministries and institutions, to ensure the provision of necessary assistance and support to the displaced families.
The provincial authorities are fully prepared to facilitate the temporary living arrangements for the displaced, including providing shelter, security, food, and health services.
The Governor also appealed to local residents to contribute aid and support to the displaced families to the best of their abilities, helping to alleviate their burdens.
A representative of the displaced families expressed immense joy and gratitude for the attention shown by Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet and the First Lady, as well as H.E. Dith Tina, and the provincial leaders, who visited and provided timely assistance. He stated that the aid is truly valuable in helping them address their daily living challenges while they are displaced by conflict.
He further added that the direct presence of the Royal Government leaders and provincial authorities has provided significant encouragement and hope, reassuring them that they have not been forgotten.
