Cambodia, Finland Satisfied with Bilateral Relation and Cooperation

Cambodia and Finland are satisfied with their bilateral relationship and cooperation, and aim to promote them to the next level.
The satisfaction was expressed while H.E. Ms. Kristina Kuvaja Xanthopoulos, Ambassador of Finland to Cambodia with residence in Bangkok, led a delegation from Finnish companies including Vaisala, Wartsila, and Nokia, to pay a courtesy call on and discuss cooperation with H.E. Thor Chetha, Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology, for cooperation discussion at the office of the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology (MOWRAM) on July 24.
On the occasion, H.E. Thor Chetha briefed his guests about MOWRAM’s clear priorities and strategic plan with a strong focus on the development of irrigation system and large-scale water reservoirs whose aims are to ensure long-term water security and are aligned with the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC)’s Pentagonal Strategy, phase I.
He further expressed deep appreciation to the Government and people of Finland for their continued support in Cambodia’s socio-economic development, acknowledging Findland’s role in encouraging investment in various national projects that contribute to the RGC’s effort to boost economic growth and achieve Cambodia’s vison as an upper-middle-income country by 2030 and a high-income economy by 2050.
For her part, H.E. Ms. Kristina Kuvaja Xanthopoulos congratulated the RGC on her significant achievements and ongoing development across multiple sectors.
She also emphasised the importance of strong and growing ties between Cambodia and Finland, and was delighted to expand the mutual cooperation in various fields through Finland’s commitment to strengthening and broadening bilateral collaboration for mutual benefits of both people and countries.
