Samdech Techo: Strong Cambodia-Philippines Army Ties to Foster Broader Cooperation

Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo Hun Sen, President of the Senate of Cambodia, has highlighted the close relationship and strong cooperation between the Cambodian and Philippine armies, emphasising that such military ties will help boost collaboration across other sectors.
The remarks were made during a meeting with H.E. Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido, Commanding General of the Philippine Army, at the Senate Palace in Phnom Penh this morning.
Samdech Techo warmly welcomed H.E. Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido and his delegation, who were in Cambodia to attend the closing ceremony of a training course on Downtown Research and Combat. He praised the training programme for enhancing the capacity and experience of Cambodian armed forces, complementing their existing skills in jungle warfare.
The Senate President also noted Cambodia’s agricultural export potential, particularly in supplying food to the Philippine market, and highlighted further opportunities to deepen the Cambodia-Philippines partnership in other sectors.
For his part, H.E. Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido expressed his appreciation for Samdech Techo’s insights and stressed the relevance of Cambodia’s win-win political strategy as a model for promoting peace and stability in the southern Philippines.
H.E. Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido also reaffirmed the Philippine Army’s commitment to continued cooperation with the Cambodian Army, including future joint training and knowledge-sharing activities to benefit both nations.
