Cambodia, China Continue to Deepen Bilateral Ties with Youth at the Core
AKP Phnom Penh, July 15, 2025 --
Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet received H.E. Chen Zhou, Vice Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh this afternoon.
During the courtesy call, H.E. Chen Zhou recalled the state visit of H.E. Xi Jinping, President of the People’s Republic of China, to Cambodia in April 2025, describing it as a testament to the growing strength of bilateral relations.
He noted that in a time of global uncertainty and rising geopolitical and economic tensions, deepening cooperation between Cambodia and China across all levels and sectors has become increasingly important.
H.E. Chen Zhou also emphasised the need to invest in developing the next generation of youth in both countries, to ensure they are capable, strong, and ready to take on future leadership responsibilities.
For his part, Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet warmly welcomed H.E. Chen Zhou and praised the continued progress in Cambodia-China relations. He highlighted the establishment of the all-weather Cambodia-China community with a shared future, which is being implemented at all levels—including the government, ministries, institutions, and at the capital and provincial levels.
The Prime Minister attributed the success of bilateral relations to the strong partnership between the two ruling parties, with youth playing a central role.
He encouraged the young people of both nations to continue fostering closer ties and deeper cooperation, contributing to the sustained growth and strengthening of Cambodia-China relations.
