Cambodia’s Esports Federation and AG Technology Investment Sign MoU to Advance Esports Development in Siem Reap
AKP Phnom Penh, July 11, 2025 -- The Esports Federation of Cambodia (EFC) and AG Technology Investment Co., Ltd. signed on Friday a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under the presidency of H.E. Dr. Chea Chanboribo, President of the EFC, at Premier Palace Restaurant, Phnom Penh.
The MoU aims to advance esports development in the Angkor region, Siem Reap, focusing on four key areas: (1) organising technical and management training courses for esports; (2) hosting cultural and competitive esports events; (3) facilitating youth and expert exchanges between the two countries; and (4) providing technological equipment and management support.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, H.E. Dr. Chea Chanboribo emphasised that this partnership marks an important step in formalising cooperation between the two parties to promote and develop the esports sector in Cambodia. He highlighted the goal of creating new opportunities for Cambodian youth by sharing experience, expertise, and key resources within the digital sports ecosystem.
“With the participation of the Chinese Cultural Association, we are confident that Cambodia’s esports sector will receive crucial support in addressing challenges such as a lack of training, infrastructure development, funding, and international recognition,” H.E. Dr. Chea Chanboribo stated.
He added that the cooperation will also become a key platform to empower youth participation in social activities, foster creativity, open new career pathways, and integrate Cambodian youth into the global esports movement.
The EFC is committed to becoming a platform for young Cambodians with potential and aspirations to develop themselves through digital sports. Collaborations with international partners, such as the Chinese Cultural Association, are instrumental in addressing challenges and paving the way toward success within the esports industry.
