AKP Phnom Penh, July 10, 2025 --

H.E. Dr. Chea Serey, Governor of the National Bank of Cambodia (NBC), met with Mr. Jo Scheuer, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Cambodia, on July 9 afternoon at the NBC headquarters in Phnom Penh.

The meeting focused on reviewing the progress of 22 priority actions outlined in the Multi-stakeholder Consultation on Microfinance in Cambodia.

Both parties commended the achievements made, attributing them to the active participation of all stakeholders in carrying out the planned activities.

Discussions also led to an agreement to advance several key initiatives, including: Preparations for the 3rd High-Level Multi-stakeholder Dialogue on Microfinance in Cambodia; Gathering recommendations and strategies to implement the remaining priority actions; Establishing a robust data-sharing infrastructure; and Conducting a feasibility study on collecting credit data from the general population.
