PM: Cambodia Does Not Interfere in Other Countries’ Internal Affairs
AKP Phnom Penh, July 01, 2025 --
Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet has reaffirmed that Cambodia does not interfere in the internal political affairs of any other country.
“Conflicts arising within your own country must be resolved by your own people. Stop blaming Cambodia. If not, Cambodia will be compelled to respond,” the Prime Minister stressed while presiding over the celebration of the 20th National Fisheries Day 2025, held this morning at Boeung Tonle Bati in Kraing Thnong commune, Bati district, Takeo province.
Samdech Thipadei stated that Cambodia has remained patient for the sake of good relations, even though Thailand has repeatedly slandered and belittled Cambodia in the past.
“We have a lot of evidence of such slanders, but Cambodia has chosen not to escalate the issue because we do not want problems with our neighbour,” he said.
He affirmed that Cambodia’s actions are solely aimed at defending the honour, dignity, sovereignty, and supreme interests of the Cambodian people and the nation.
Tensions between Cambodia and Thailand escalated when Thai military forces opened fire on a Cambodian army post in Techo Morokot village, Morokot commune, Choam Khsan district, Preah Vihear province—an area long recognised as Cambodian territory—at around 5:30 a.m. on May 28, 2025. The attack resulted in the death of a Cambodian soldier.
