The Ministry of National Defence has urged the public to seek and rely solely on verified and official sources of information—particularly those issued by the Royal Governments and the Ministries of National Defence of both Cambodia and Thailand.

“These are the most reliable, factual, and authoritative sources of information,” the ministry emphasised in a statement released this morning.

The statement followed recent circulation of misleading and inaccurate reports by certain Thai media outlets and local social media accounts. “Such false narratives have caused public misunderstanding and risk fueling ethnic tensions, which could lead to further escalation,” it added.

The ministry also called on all citizens to remain calm, uphold peace and friendship, and refrain from actions or beliefs that could incite conflict or war.
