Cambodia Discusses Defence Cooperation with Australia and Nigeria

Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces (RCAF) H.E. Gen. Vong Pisen has held separate meetings with H.E. Bernard Philip, Australia’s First Assistant Secretary for International Policy, and Major General Razaq Kolawole Shittu, Nigerian Military Advisor to Cambodia, to discuss defence cooperation on June 5 at RCAF headquarters in Phnom Penh.
In the meeting with the Australian delegation, H.E. Gen. Vong Pisen expressed his deep gratitude to the Australian government for sending troops to support the process of national unification, building and maintaining peace in Cambodia during the early 1990s within the framework of the United Nations.
He encouraged the Australian side to enhance cooperation with Cambodia, especially in human resource training, exchange of exposure visits at all levels, exchange of information on combating transnational crimes and terrorism, and partnership in humanitarian work and disaster relief.
H.E. Bernard Philip spoke highly of Australia-Cambodia's defence cooperation and the advancement of the sector in Cambodia.
In his meeting with Major General Razaq Kolawole Shittu, H.E. Gen. Vong Pisen echoed the Nigerian Military Advisor to Cambodia of an intention to further foster defence cooperation between the two countries, especially through experience and knowledge sharing.
