Air Cambodia Modernising Fleet with New ATR 72-600 Aircraft
AKP Phnom Penh, May 25, 2025 --
Air Cambodia, the national flag carrier, is set to complete the delivery of three ATR 72-600 aircraft within 2025. The first of the three aircraft is scheduled to arrive at Phnom Penh International Airport on May 26.
A welcome ceremony for the new aircraft will be held on the same day at the airport, presided over by H.E. Mao Havannall, Minister in Charge of the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation.
Following the May delivery, the second and third aircraft are expected to arrive in October and November, respectively.
“Congratulations to Air Cambodia on their latest ATR 72-600s. A significant step forward in modernising the fleet and expanding regional connectivity,” Cambodia Airports said in a Facebook post on Friday.
Air Cambodia currently operates domestic services and international flights to destinations including China, Thailand, and Vietnam.
The airline is also planning to launch flights to Japan in October 2025, following the approval of aviation authorities in both countries. The move aims to meet the growing demand for tourism and investment in Cambodia.
According to the State Secretariat of Civil Aviation, Cambodia’s three international airports handled a total of 17,434 flights during the first quarter of 2025, a 19 percent increase compared to the same period last year. Passenger traffic reached 1.96 million, up 19 percent, while air cargo volume rose by 10 percent to nearly 20,000 tonnes.
