Cambodian PM Extends Condolences over Former Vietnamese President’s Passing

Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, expressed his sadness over the news that H.E. Tran Duc Luong, former President of the Socialist Republic of Viet Nam, passed away on May 20, 2025.
“On behalf of the Government and people of Cambodia, I would like to convey my deepest condolences and compassion to you and the bereaved family of the late former President Tran Duc Luong, as well as the Communist Party, the Government and the people of Viet Nam at this moment of profound grief,” he wrote in his message to his Vietnamese counterpart H.E. Pham Minh Chinh.
H.E. Tran Duc Luong will be forever remembered as the stateman who devoted his entire life to the revolutionary cause of the Communist Party of Viet Nam, development, and well-being of the people of Viet Nam, he added.
“Cambodia lost a friend who greatly contributed to building enduring ties of friendship and solidarity between Cambodia and Viet Nam,” underlined the Cambodian Premier.
