The Cambodian Gems and Jewelry Traders Association (CGJTA) has officially launched the 16th Cambodia International Gems and Jewelry Fair, aiming to promote the country’s growing jewelry and gemstone sector to both domestic and international audiences.

The exhibition, held at the Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre in Phnom Penh on May 15, was presided over by H.E. Dr. Sok Chenda Sophea, Deputy Prime Minister and representative of Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia.

This year’s event serves as a platform to raise public awareness and provide key insights to local and international traders, company owners, investors, and banking professionals about Cambodia’s long-term vision and development trajectory in the natural gemstone and jewelry industry. It also aims to highlight advancements in design, creativity, research, and technology within the sector.

In her welcoming speech, H.E. Mrs. Nget Srey Oun, President of the above-mentioned Association, expressed her deep gratitude to the dignitaries, including the royal government officials, business leaders, and international guests, for attending the opening ceremony. She noted that despite facing various challenges over the past year, the association has achieved significant progress, contributing to its growing reputation on the international stage.

To foster global collaboration, the association has signed cooperation agreements with foreign counterparts including the Vietnam Jewelry Association, Thailand’s AGJA, the Malaysia Jewelry Association, and the India Jewelry Association. Additionally, the association has partnered with ABA Bank to facilitate account creation for its members, whether for companies or individuals.

Deputy Prime Minister Sok Chenda Sophea commended the association’s efforts in organising a vibrant and creative international exhibition. He emphasised that the event reflects Cambodia’s proactive engagement in developing the jewelry and gemstone sector under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Hun Manet. The exhibition, he said, strengthens international ties and promotes innovation, trade, and investment in Cambodia’s jewelry industry.

H.E. Deputy Prime Minister also highlighted the association’s recent accomplishments, including the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with international jewelry associations, which mark a significant step in enhancing Cambodia’s presence in the global market.

The 16th Cambodia International Gems and Jewelry Fair runs from May 15 to 18, 2025, and features a wide range of national and international booths showcasing various high-value jewelry and gemstone products to the public.
