Cambodia Pavilion Officially Launched at World Expo 2025 in Japan
AKP Phnom Penh, April 13, 2025 --
H.E. Samheng Bora, Secretary of State at the Ministry of Commerce and Deputy Commissioner General for the Cambodia Section at World Expo 2025, Osaka, Kansai, presided over the launching ceremony of the Cambodia Pavilion held on April 12 in Kansai, Japan.
This ceremony was also attended by H.E Dr. Kao Kim Hourn, Secretary-General of ASEAN, H.E Tuy Ri, Cambodian Ambassador to Japan, Ministry of Commerce’s managements and officials.
The Expo2025 Osaka, Kansai lasts for six months from April 13 to Oct. 13, 2025 in which Cambodia has chosen Koh Ker Temple as centerpiece for Cambodia Pavilion’s construction.
This reflects Cambodia’s unwavering commitment to preserving the cultural heritage while showcasing the architectural and artistic excellence of the Khmer civilisation.
In addition, the Cambodian Pavilion also contains the Kou Prey statue, Cambodia’s national animal, and the biodiversity which represents the nation’s abundant natural resources; a depiction of an Angkor Wat bas-relief on the temple wall features the “Churning of the Ocean of Milk”, a famous bas-relief that symbolises Khmer mythology and craftsmanship; a traditional Khmer bamboo houses exemplify Cambodia’s architectural heritage, and a maquette of Angkor Wat Temple.
The pavilion’s central landscape highlights a panoramic view of lush rice fields, emphasising the country’s agricultural potential and renowned rice products.
Furthermore, Cambodia also bring our potential products including the geographical indication products, cashew nut, fragrant rice, silver and copper sculpture, souvenirs, clothes, golden silk and artistic works as well as the projection of highlight video of Cambodia tourism attraction to the audience and Pavilion visitor on our economic, trade, investment, and tourism potential.
