Cambodia's Tallest Bridge Opens for Temporary Passage Today

Bridge No. 28, the tallest bridge in Cambodia, was put into a temporary use early this morning for seven days, from April 11 to 17, during Khmer New Year holiday, according to H.E. Phan Rim, Spokesperson for the Ministry of Public Works and Transport.
The bridge, located in Pursat province, is open from 6:00 am to 6:00 pm during the said period, the spokesperson said, adding that cargo trucks and large vehicles are not allowed to pass the bridge.
Built by the China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC), the Bridge No. 28 spans the Russey Chrum River Valley in Chhay Louk village, O’ Som commune, Veal Veng district, along National Road No. 10.
The bridge stands 90 metres tall, with a total length of 537 metres and a width of 10 metres, making it the tallest bridge in the country.
It forms part of the 197.3-kilometre-long reconstruction project of National Road No. 10, which connects Battambang and Koh Kong provinces.
