The Minister of Water Resources and Meteorology has conducted a site inspection for the construction progress of a strategic irrigation project, the Dang Kambet Reservoir, located in Sandan district, Kampong Thom province.

H.E. Thor Chetha, joined by Minister of Rural Development H.E. Chhay Rithisen, led their technical teams for the inspection on April 1 to speed up the work amid the seasonal dry season in Cambodia.

According to H.E. Thor Chetha, the development of the Dang Kambet Reservoir aims to ensure water security and supply for irrigation in downstream agricultural areas, contributing to increased agricultural productivity, which is a priority of the Royal Government of Cambodia.

The project will support multi-sectoral water use and play a role in improving the livelihoods of local communities while driving national economic growth in the context of climate change.
