Prime Minister Samdech Moha Borvor Thipadei Hun Manet received here at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh this afternoon a delegation of Kun Khmer Federation led by its President H.E. Khov Chhay.

During the meeting, the Premier spoke highly of the efforts of the Kun Khmer Federation in developing and promoting Kun Khmer, making the Kun Khmer sector more prominent and renowned on the national and international stage.

Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet encouraged the federation to continue developing and promoting Kun Khmer more widely and vigorously, and collaborating with ministries, institutions, and local authorities, especially in organising major annual events.

Moreover, the Prime Minister urged the federation to continue strengthening cooperation with various countries around the world, aiming to expand the training of Kun Khmer and promote the image of this Khmer martial art on the international scene.

For his part, H.E. Khov Chhay briefed Samdech Thipadei on the activities and progress of the Kun Khmer Federation, currently composed of 23 member associations at ministries and institutions, and 144 affiliated clubs.
 
According to the federation’s president, as of 2024, there were in total 1,236 Kun Khmer athletes, of them 45 are women, 144 coaches, 148 assistant coaches, 180 technical officials and referees, including12 women, and 7 secretariat officials.

The federation has taken the initiative to organise from 18 to 22 Kun Khmer competitions a week.
