ANA’s External Audit of Environmental Management System-Angkor Completed
AKP Phnom Penh, February 28, 2025 --
The APSARA National Authority (ANA) held a closing ceremony for the external audit of its ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System.
The event was presided over by H.E. Long Kosal, Deputy Director-General, representing H.E. Dr. Hang Peou, ANA Director-General. Also present were H.E. Sok Leakhena, Director of the Environmental Management System Unit, Mr. Yamada Mamoru, the JQA representative and auditor, along with various leaders and heads of departments, including environmental promoters from relevant units.
According to the authority’s news release on Feb. 27, this audit was conducted by the Japan Quality Assurance (JQA) and involved a thorough assessment of various departments within the APSARA National Authority, as well as a direct inspection of the Angkor site over three days, from Feb. 25 to 27, 2025.
The primary goal of the audit was to ensure that the Environmental Management System-Angkor remains compliant with established standards, the same source added.
Following the three-day audit, Mr. Yamada Mamoru presented his findings, stating that no non-compliance issues were identified during the review. He confirmed that the environmental management system at the ANA continues to be implemented effectively. He also highlighted that the leadership has embraced the concept of a "Green Destination," which encompasses numerous initiatives such as tree planting, fertiliser production, and water conservation.
H.E. Long Kosal expressed the leadership's commitment to ongoing support for these initiatives to enhance their effectiveness. He noted that the ANA is actively engaged in various conservation efforts related to both environmental protection and tourism. He encouraged all heads and working groups involved to maintain their momentum in these endeavors, emphasising the importance of continued energy and dedication to achieve positive results.
